Nespresso Inissia Troubleshooting

Inissia is a Nespresso OriginalLine machine that is popular for its compact size, easy use and it’s one of the least complicated espresso machines. But even that kind of reliable machine can pump into a problem every once in a while. And luckily, most of them are quick to fix.

In this Nespresso Inissia troubleshooting guide, I will help you fix common issues that a lot of Nespresso Inissia users face. Luckily, most issues are easily fixed and can get your Nespresso machine up and and running in to time.

Nespresso Inissia Not Pumping Water

If you press either of the coffee buttons, and no water is coming out even though there’s a pod inside, then your Nespresso Inissia probably has an ‘Air Bubble’ blocking the flow of the water.

This happens if you haven’t used your Nespresso machine for a while, or if you have mistakenly operated the machine without any water in the reservoir.

How To Fix Air Lock in Nespresso Inissia

This fix works for Nespresso Inissia and other Nespresso OriginalLine machines.

  • Fill the water reservoir and make sure it is sitting properly in its place.
  • Press the Lungo button and let it run until it stops (even if no water/coffee is coming out).
  • Repeat the Lungo cycle several times until the water starts flowing. This might not work on first try, so run the cycle a few times.

Nespresso Inissia Won’t Stop Blinking

If the espresso and lungo buttons on your Nespresso Inissia keep continuously blinking and won’t stop. It means that your Nespresso machine is stuck in Descale mode.

Why is Nespresso Inissia buttons flashing?

This happens for two possible reasons:

  • If you just finished descaling your machine, but did not exit descale mode.
  • If you accidentally activated descaling mode.

How do I get my Nespresso out of descaling mode?

To deactivate descaling mode on Nespresso Inissia, all you have to do is press the espresso and lungo buttons together for 3 seconds.

This will deactivate descale mode in Nespresso Inissia or any other Nespresso OriginalLine, and will stop the buttons from flashing lights.

After descaling, you need to press the same buttons again to manually exit descaling mode and for your Nespresso machine to stop flashing light alternately.

If you haven’t descaled your Nespresso recently, then there’s a good change you might have activated descaling mode without realizing it by pressing the espresso and lungo button together for 3 seconds. To fix this, the same solution applies. Press the same two buttons together until the lights are solid green again.

Nespresso Inissia Won’t Turn On

In the case of no power at all – no light indicators, machine it totally dead – first thing you’ll want to check is that your electric outlet.

Use it to run another appliance to check that it is indeed running electricity. Or plug your Nespresso Inissia in another outlet. If it’s still not powering, it could be a power fault inside the machine and you have to call customer service.

If your Nespresso machine is still under warranty, you should get free repair or get a new machine replacement if your current one can’t be repaired.

How To Fix Nespresso Inissia Leaking Water

Most water leakage happens from the coffee capsule container as it also collects water.

Leaking occurs if the container is not properly sat in its place. Some water drains or drips as you make your coffee, and it the container isn’t there to catch it, it will leak outside the machine.

How To Factory Reset Nespresso Inissia

When all fails, Resetting your Nespresso machine to factory settings should help. But before you do that, keep in mind that all your reprogrammed volumes will reset, too.

  • Start with your machine off. Press and hold the Lungo button for 5 seconds.
  • The buttons will flash rapidly three times, confirming that the machine has been reset.

After, the buttons will start alternating lights until it is steady. Now your Nespresso machine is ready to use.
