When it comes to travel mugs fitting under a Keurig brewer, you have to make sure that it is 7″ high or LESS to ensure that it will fit under the coffee machine’s spout.
In this post, I have taken Yeti tumblers as an example. Below, you’ll find a list of the travel cup sizes that are guaranteed to fit under a Keurig coffee machine.

Most Keurig coffee machines have the same cup clearance of around 7″. I have found that the capacity of the travel mug can vary from 12 oz and up to 20 oz or 24 oz, you just have to look for the design with fitting height.
I have done the homework for you. The following Yeti travel mugs are of 7″ height or less, which means they will fit under most Keurig models.
Yeti Compared To Keurig’s Travel Mugs
Keurig has its own line of double-walled stainless steel travel mugs. And of course, they will fit their machines perfectly.
So do you go for Keurig’s own brand of travel mugs or get the popular Yeti brand instead?
The Keurig Faceted travel mug is 14 oz in capacity, and it is designed to keep drinks hot for up to 5 hours or cold for up to 8 hours.
The temperature hold on both brands are more or less the same. Yeti doesn’t mention how long their tumblers keep the temperature, but from experience, you can expect the same performance.
However, when it comes to durability and materials, the Yeti design is the clear winner. This is a brand that offers camping gear and all their products are made to withstand outdoors conditions. Yeti uses their DuraCoat technology which is durable coat of color that won’t fade, peel, or crack. And it acts as a good grip to the tumbler.
Keurig’s travel mug has a metallic finish, but many customers have reported the coating to scratch or peel off after a while.
Cleaning wise, Yeti’s tumblers are dishwasher safe and Keurig’s is hand-wash only.
Overall, although Yeti is slightly more expensive than Keurig, it is the best choice. It offers durability and more variety in terms of capacity and colors.
How To Fill a Keurig Travel Mug
Now that we have discussed what size of cups fit under a Keurig, let’s talk about how much coffee you need to fill them up.
The standard Keurig can brew 6, 8 or 10 ounces of single-brew coffee. 12 ounces is the largest K-cup serving size.
In order to fill a 20 oz travel mug, you’ll need two pods, and you’ll use the 10 oz serving size for each pod. For a 16 oz travel mug, brew two pods using the 8 oz serving size.
I would recommend NOT to brew the same pod twice so you don’t get watered down coffee.
If you are using refillable k-cup pods, the process is the same. Use two pods instead of one to get a strong tasting cup of coffee.
